2027: Wadada asks for forgiveness, backing ahead of Nasarawa gov bid

Senator Ahmed Wadada, the preferred governorship aspirant of Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, has called on APC members and residents of the state to forgive one another as he steps up consultations ahead of the 2027 elections.

He made the appeal on Tuesday during a meeting with party stakeholders and supporters at the Nasarawa State Lodge in Abuja, shortly before submitting his expression of interest and nomination forms.

“As we approach the 2027 general elections, I want to urge us to continue to forgive ourselves because that is the best way to remain united as a people and achieve success,” he said.

Wadada expressed gratitude for the widespread support he has received across the state, promising not to take it for granted.

He also thanked Governor Sule for endorsing his candidacy, describing the decision as a sign of trust and commitment to party unity.

“To my fellow aspirants who have supported what the governor has decided, I cannot thank you enough. May God reward you abundantly,” he added.

He further acknowledged party leaders, including the state APC Chairman, Dr Aliyu Bello, and other stakeholders for strengthening the party.

A chieftain of the APC in Nasarawa, Dr Ahmed Mohammed Musa, urged members to stay united and accept Wadada’s emergence, saying it reflects divine will and calling for collective support.

The Deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, also encouraged residents to back the aspirant, stating that continuity would sustain the governor’s development efforts.

Similarly, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, expressed confidence in Wadada’s prospects, citing the popularity of the administration.

After submitting his forms, Wadada told journalists that all 13 local government chairmen in the state had endorsed his ambition.

“The entire 13 local government chairmen of Nasarawa State are here. The entire legislature of Nasarawa State, from the Speaker, principal officers and members of the state assembly are here,” he said.

He outlined his economic plans, noting Nasarawa’s proximity to the Federal Capital Territory as a major advantage.

“Nasarawa State is the closest state to the FCT. Our proximity is an asset to us and we shall leverage on it,” he said.

Wadada also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, linking increased federal allocations to recent reforms, including fuel subsidy removal, and urged Nigerians to support the administration’s policies.
