Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has revealed that 22 suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of 12 Kaduna indigenes in Plateau State last Saturday.
Speaking during a visit to the surviving victims at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna on Monday, the governor condemned the attack, describing it as barbaric.
The victims, wedding guests from Zaria, were intercepted by a mob in the Mangun District of Mangu Local Government Area while traveling to Quan Pan Local Government Area in Plateau State.
The attack resulted in 12 deaths, with several others injured.
Governor Sani noted that he has been in communication with Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and President Bola Tinubu to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
He also urged local leaders in Plateau to caution their communities against such violent acts and commended Kaduna residents for maintaining peace despite the provocation.
The governor reiterated his call for swift action by security agencies to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the attack.
