30 Bandits killed as Security Forces repel Katsina attacks

Joint security forces comprising the police, military, and Nigerian Air Force personnel have killed 30 heavily armed bandits during coordinated attacks on three communities in Faskari LGA, Katsina State.

The bandits had launched simultaneous assaults on Kadisau, Raudama, and Sabon Layi on Tuesday, prompting a swift response from security operatives.

Tragically, five security personnel—three Mobile Police officers and two soldiers—lost their lives in the operation, while another officer, Ya’u Aliyu, sustained injuries.

Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasir Mua’zu, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday. He offered condolences to the families of the fallen heroes and assured that the government would fully support them.

Mua’zu reaffirmed Governor Dikko Radda’s administration’s commitment to eradicating banditry and restoring lasting peace in the state.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and continue supplying intelligence to security agencies, promising intensified operations and regular updates.

“We will not rest until every criminal element is eliminated. Together, we will overcome these challenges and build a safer Katsina State for all,” Mua’zu stated.
