The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 30-year-old Peter Sinamai, a resident of Sangere Gombi Local Government Area, over the alleged killing of his father and disposal of his body in an abandoned well.
In a statement issued on Friday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspect was apprehended after police operatives received a report concerning the incident.
Nguroje stated, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly killed his father and disposed his body in a well within their community.”
The state Commissioner of Police, Kabiru Hassan, has ordered for a thorough investigation into the matter to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“The suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation,” he added.
The CP who condemned the act, reassured the public of the command’s commitment to protect the members of the public and that justice is going be served.
He further urged members of the public to always seek lawful and peaceful means of resolving family disputes and to seek appropriate intervention whenever conflicts arise.
