The Federal Government says 65 more Nigerians will be brought back from South Africa on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs made this known in a statement released on Tuesday through its X account.
The ministry said the Nigerians, whose return was funded by private sponsors, would leave Johannesburg’s Oliver Tambo International Airport at 3:30pm local time on a South African Airways flight.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform that another set of 65 Nigerian nationals sponsored by private individuals will depart the Oliver Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, South Africa on Wednesday 26 August 2026 at 3.30pm local time via South African Airways.
“The expected time of arrival of the returnees at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos is 8.45pm in the evening same day.”
The repatriation is taking place against the backdrop of reported attacks and discrimination targeting foreigners in South Africa.
The latest group follows the return of 83 Nigerians from South Africa announced by the Federal Government the previous week.
The earlier repatriation was also made possible through financial support from private individuals.
