ADC steps up mobilisation with door-to-door campaign

With the June 20 governorship election in Ekiti State drawing near, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has intensified preparations to secure victory for its candidate, Dare Bejide, by rolling out grassroots, door-to-door mobilisation campaign.

The party’s national leadership has constituted several campaign committees and charged them with driving voter engagement across the state. Central to the strategy is the Contact and Mobilisation Committee, which has been tasked with educating residents on the party’s policies and encouraging voter participation.

According to a statement issued in Ado Ekiti by the Director of Media and Publicity of the Dare Bejide Campaign Council, Chief Gboyega Aribisogan, the committee will focus on promoting the ADC’s plans for education, healthcare, agriculture and youth employment while addressing voters’ concerns.

The party said the newly established campaign structure, which includes more than 100 members, is designed to coordinate grassroots outreach, media activities and policy communication ahead of the election.

Committees created for the campaign include the National Campaign Council, Media and Publicity Committee, Contact and Mobilisation Committee, Policy and Protocol Committee, and the Youth and Women Engagement Committee.

ADC explained that the campaign framework was deliberately decentralised to ensure that local issues are reflected in campaign activities across different communities.

Under the arrangement, the Media and Publicity Committee will oversee press relations, social media campaigns and broadcast engagements, while the Policy and Manifesto Committee will translate the party’s promises into detailed sector-specific plans.

The party said the policy team comprises professionals from key sectors, including education, healthcare and engineering, who will help develop practical solutions for the state.

Youth and women leaders have also been assigned major responsibilities, including organising rallies, voter education programmes and other activities aimed at boosting support for the party.

In addition, logistics and security sub-committees have been created to manage campaign materials and ensure compliance with electoral regulations.

ADC said it is collaborating with relevant authorities to promote a peaceful and orderly election process before and during the governorship poll.
