Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared, “I know who I be,” as he intensified his re-election campaign, borrowing lyrics and song titles from his nephew Davido’s newly released album, Oriadé, to reinforce his campaign message.
In a post shared on X on Friday, Adeleke dismissed criticism of his repeated calls for peace, insisting that his administration’s performance would secure victory in the August 15 governorship election.
“On the road again for the Imole re-election campaign, and I’m listening to Oriadé, the new album by my nephew, #Davido, which is constantly reminding me of the amazing grace that has been my light and guide these last three and a half years that I have been Governor of Osun State.
“They say my call for peace is weak, but I know who I be. Tell everybody: Imole is winning his re-election on August 15.
“If you ask Julie or anyone in Osun State, they will tell you no vacancy in Abeere. Those perpetuating violence against our people are already falling.
“B4 B4 it was Zanzibar for tourism. Now Yaya and everyone is saying ‘Gimme Dat Ting’ in Osun. Oh… Yaya!” he wrote.
The post came hours after Davido released Oriadé, his sixth studio album, marking 15 years in the music industry.
Announcing the project, the Afrobeats star wrote, “Oriadé. My sixth album. Fifteen years in. Get it from me directly, before anywhere else. Naira. Cedis. Shillings. Rand. Pounds. Pay what it’s worth to you.”
The 13-track album features On the Road, Amazing Grace featuring Black Sherif, Julie, Constantly, I Know Who I Be featuring JAZZWRLD and GL. Ceejay, Gimme Dat Ting featuring NO11, B4 B4 featuring Mayorkun and FOLA, Already Falling, Tell Everybody featuring Leon Thomas, Yaya featuring Aya Nakamura, Zanzibar, Guide and My Light featuring Liona.
Adeleke’s post comes amid heightened political tension and security concerns ahead of the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, with the campaign period marked by allegations of politically motivated arrests, violent clashes and disputes over local government administration.
