The All Progressives Congress has congratulated the winners of Saturday’s bye-elections conducted to fill vacant seats in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
It will be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the APC candidate for Khana Constituency II, Burabari Lolo, and the party’s flagbearer for Ahoada Constituency II, Napoleon Ukalikpe, as winners of the elections.
The ruling party in the state attributed the success of the two candidates to the commitment and hard work of its leaders, members, supporters, and other key stakeholders.
The APC State Publicity Secretary, Chibike Ikenga, disclosed this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Sunday and made available to journalists.
Ikenga urged Lolo and Ukalikpe to collaborate with other lawmakers in the State House of Assembly to strengthen democratic participation and promote good governance for the development of the oil-rich state.
The statement partly read, “The Chairman and executive members of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State wish to congratulate our members-elect who were declared winners of the just concluded bye-elections in Khana Constituency II and Ahoada Constituency II.
“We further wish to thank our teeming members for their support throughout the campaign leading up to the elections and victory.
“This victory is a clear testament to the hard work of our leaders, members, supporters and candidates.
“We enjoin you to strive even harder in subsequent elections in delivering our candidates, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and others in the 2027 elections.”
The APC added that the members-elect are expected to work closely with fellow legislators in the Rivers State House of Assembly to deepen democratic participation and advance good governance for the state’s growth, anchored on the ideals of quality representation, transparency, and accountability.
