According to the Army, successful applicants will undergo military training before being commissioned to serve in various combat and support formations. These include the Infantry and Armour Corps, as well as the Artillery, Engineers, Signals and Intelligence Corps.

It further stated that prospective applicants are required to visit the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal, http://nashortservice.army.mil.ng, select the SSCC option and carefully follow the application instructions.

The Army advised applicants to rely only on information published through its official recruitment channels, noting that the application deadline is Saturday, October 17, 2026.

It, however, warned members of the public to disregard any online recruitment portal or announcement purportedly opened before the official publication.

“For enquiries, applicants can contact: 07016874003 and 07047340295. The lines are available daily from 8am to 6pm. Eligible Nigerians should take advantage of the opportunity to join the military and serve the nation,” the statement said.
