Bauchi gov sacks commissioner for internal security

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has removed the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, from office.

The development was disclosed in a short statement issued in the early hours of Monday and signed by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado.

The statement revealed that the governor sanctioned a minor cabinet reshuffle within the State Executive Council, which led to Galadima’s dismissal with immediate effect.

“His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, has approved a minor change in the composition of his cabinet,” the statement read.

“In that respect, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, has been relieved of his appointment as a member of the State Executive Council with immediate effect.”

Gidado noted that the move aligns with the administration’s policy of regularly reviewing its cabinet to introduce new perspectives, enhance governance, reposition the executive arm for better service delivery, and ensure the effective execution of government policies and programmes across the state.

Governor Mohammed thanked Galadima for his service and contributions during his time in office and wished him well in his future pursuits.

He further assured the people of Bauchi State of his government’s ongoing commitment to peace, security, and good governance.

The media aide added that a successor to the removed commissioner would be named at a later date.
