Benue APC backs Tinubu, Alia on democracy day

The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has restated its support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia as Nigeria marked Democracy Day.

In a statement released on Friday in Makurdi, the party’s chairman, Benjamin Omale, said the APC in the state, alongside its supporters, remains firmly behind both leaders. He also noted that the party is committed to working with stakeholders to strengthen democratic governance, improve leadership, and ensure citizens continue to benefit from government programmes.

Omale urged Nigerians to remain united, law-abiding, and committed to democratic ideals such as peace, justice, and national development, describing democracy as the most effective system of governance.

He said, “Together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous, more united Benue and Nigeria.

“As a party, we reaffirm our total support and loyalty to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia.

“We remain committed to working with all well-meaning Nigerians and stakeholders to deepen democracy, strengthen good governance, and ensure the continued delivery of democratic dividends to our people.”

He also commended Governor Alia’s leadership, saying it has promoted peace, inclusiveness, and development in Benue State, while restoring public confidence in governance.

“Through governor Alia’s visionary leadership, Benue State is witnessing a renewed sense of hope, progress, and development, thereby reinforcing the true essence and benefits of democratic governance,” Omale said.

Omale further appreciated traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organisations, security agencies, party members, and other stakeholders for their contributions to sustaining democracy and supporting government initiatives in the state.
