Benue community in shock as woman allegedly killed in Naka

The community of Naka in Benue State is reeling following the tragic death of 29-year-old Comfort Hajia Anura.

In January 2026, Anura was severely injured after being attacked by a man whom locals identified as “mentally unstable.” She later passed away from the wounds she sustained during the assault.

The attack took place in Naka, the administrative center of Gwer West Local Government Area. A Facebook post made on March 3, 2026, by Ado Benjamin reported that the suspect used a stick to assault Comfort. Following the incident, the attacker was also killed at the scene, though the specific details of his death are currently unverified, as officials have not yet released a formal statement.

This event has deeply saddened the local population. Comfort, remembered by friends and neighbors as a vibrant and promising individual, left behind a community now in mourning. Her funeral is planned for March 7, 2026, in Tse-Ashwe, Mbabija, Mbachohon, located within the Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.
