Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, accompanied by his wife Maria Lúcia Alckmin and other officials, has arrived in Nigeria ahead of the highly anticipated Second Session of the Nigeria-Brazil Strategic Dialogue Mechanism (SDM).
The delegation touched down in the early hours of Tuesday at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
They were welcomed by Ibrahim Hadejia, Deputy Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; two other ministers; and several Nigerian government officials.
Senator Hadejia, who spoke at the airport reception, described the visit as “a pivotal moment,” especially considering President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He emphasised the strategic importance of Nigeria deepening ties with Brazil.
