The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has asked commercial banks to restrict loan defaulters, specifically large-ticket obligors, from accessing credit facilities.
A large-ticket obligor refers to a borrower — whether an individual or a company — that owes a significant amount of money to a bank.
The directive was contained in a circular issued to banks on Monday.
