Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun State have converged on the venue of its governorship primary election in Osogbo.
Delegates arrived at Adolak Hall under strict security arrangements to prevent any form of unrest.
This comes after the State PDP Chairman, Mr Sunday Bisi, announced on Monday that the primary election would no longer hold due to the ongoing crisis affecting the party’s national leadership.
However, his position was dismissed by the National Organising Secretary, Theophilus Shan, who maintained that the primary would proceed as planned.
By 11:04 on Tuesday, the hall was already filled with delegates, while the party’s electoral committee—led by Humphery Abba—was also present.
Other members of the committee include Bar. Marc Jacob, Chief Sanya Atofarati, Mrs Scholastical Kenebi, Chief Anene Azubuike, Mrs Splendour Josephine, and Dr Sunday Solarin, who serves as secretary.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were also on ground to supervise the process.
