Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have arrested Adeniyi Adeyemi, director-general of the “controversial” presidential foreign intervention promotion council (PFIPC).
The Osun State Police Command spokesman, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the arrest, saying Adeyemi was apprehended in the state on Tuesday.
Earlier, a federal high court in Abuja ordered Adeyemi’s arrest after he failed to honour the court’s summons in the alleged forgery case.
The embattled ‘DG’ was scheduled to be arraigned in court on Monday but was absent, as were others. He was to be arraigned on an eight-count charge filed by the police and relating to forgery, fraud, and impersonation.
