Aisha Buhari, wife of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has relocated from Daura in Katsina state to her late husband’s residence in Kaduna.
Members of the late president’s family also moved to the new base in Kaduna.
The property, situated in Ungwan Rimi GRA, was where Buhari lived before he left for medical treatment in London during his presidency.
On Sunday, Aisha and her children arrived at the Nigerian Air Force Base in Kaduna.
They were received by a delegation led by Hadiza Balarabe, deputy governor of Kaduna, and Munira Tanimu, majority leader of the Kaduna house of assembly.
Buhari died on July 13 in London, United Kingdom, at the age of 82.
The former president was buried on July 15 at his residence in Daura, Katsina state.
In February 2025, Buhari had moved into the same Kaduna residence after nearly two years in Daura.
He was accompanied during that move by Kashim Shettima, the vice-president; Babagana Zulum, governor of Borno; Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna; and other senior officials.
The relocation marked the end of Buhari’s quiet stay in Daura following his exit from office in May 2023.
