CDCFIB raises alarm over fake job adverts, agents

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has issued a warning to Nigerians to ignore misleading information about a purported recruitment exercise into the paramilitary agencies under its jurisdiction.

In a statement posted Thursday on its official X account, Secretary to the Board, Major General Abdulmalik Jibril (retd), raised concerns over fraudulent individuals posing as recruitment agents, calling such activities scams.

He emphasized that the recruitment process is entirely free, and no fees are required at any stage. The Board also clarified that the only legitimate portal for the exercise is https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, urging the public to avoid any other platforms.

Security agencies, the statement adds, have been alerted to apprehend the individuals and syndicates involved in the scam., The Board advises all prospective candidates to stay vigilant and avoid falling prey to fraudulent schemes.

“The Board urged job seekers and members of the public not to fall victim to recruitment scammers who exploit desperation and circulate false information to defraud innocent citizens.

“Members of the public should be extremely cautious and report any suspicious offers or individuals requesting payment in exchange for employment,” the statement reads.
