The head coach of the Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, has announced a 24-man squad for the African playoffs of the 2026 World Cup.
The coach has recalled Maduka Okoye, Chidera Ejuke, and Raphael Onyedika for the crucial fixtures.
Okoye makes his return after serving a two-month suspension linked to a betting scandal in Italy, while Onyedika is back after recovering from an injury that ruled him out of the final qualification group games. Ejuke also rejoins the squad after a lengthy absence.
Regular stars including Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Stanley Nwabali, and Samuel Chukwueze have all been included.
Other notable names in the team are William Troost-Ekong, Benjamin Fredericks, Frank Onyeka, Akor Adams, Tolu Arokodare, and Wilfred Ndidi.
Nigeria will face Gabon in the first semi-final at the Complexe Sportif Prince Heritier Moulay Al Hassan in Rabat, Morocco, on November 13.
The winner of the tie will play either Congo DR or Cameroon in the final for a chance to represent Africa at the intercontinental playoff.
The players are expected to assemble in Rabat on November 10.
