Dalori assumes Office as APC Acting National Chair

The Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ali Bukar Dalori, on Monday pledged to perform his new duties with transparency, inclusiveness, and a shared sense of purpose.

Speaking to members of the National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, shortly after taking office, Dalori expressed gratitude for their loyalty and support. He stated his readiness to collaborate with them to safeguard the unity, discipline, and strategic direction of the party.

He urged NEC members to remain focused on the broader goal of delivering effective governance to Nigerians, strengthening democracy within party structures, and preparing for the future with clarity and resolve.

Dalori officially took over as acting chairman and presided over the NWC meeting in Abuja on Monday.

He stressed the need for members to begin fortifying internal party mechanisms, reconnect with grassroots supporters, and revitalise structures across all levels as preparations for the 2027 general elections begin.

Dalori, formerly the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), assumed the acting chairmanship following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje.

Ganduje, who hails from the North-West, took over the party’s leadership in August 2023 after Abdullahi Adamu from the North-Central stepped down.

In a statement on Saturday, the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) welcomed Ganduje’s resignation, describing it as consistent with the party’s ongoing transformation. The announcement followed a two-day regional strategy meeting in Benin City, Edo State, hosted by Senator Monday Okpebholo.
