Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has defended his love for dancing, saying the hobby does not affect his responsibilities as governor as he campaigns for a second term in office.
Adeleke made this known on Tuesday during a town hall meeting organised by Arise TV for candidates participating in the August 15 Osun State governorship election.
The governor, who described himself as a “prudent worker,” said dancing was part of his personality and one of his hobbies, stressing that he had executed projects across various sectors despite his public dancing displays.
“I dance because in my family, we are jolly good fellows. As I am dancing, I am working. There is time for everything, there is time to dance, and there is time to work. Dancing does not stop me from working. I have delivered across all sectors,” Adeleke said.
This follows recent criticism of his dancing by Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, who mocked him during an APC campaign rally in Osun State and described him as the “dancing governor.”
Adeleke said those offended by his dancing should learn to dance, stressing that the activity had not affected his performance in office.
“If they can’t dance, I can teach them how to dance,” he said.
The governor mentioned that his people appreciated his personality and maintained that dancing remained only a hobby.
“Dancing is a hobby. That does not affect my work. My people love me,” he said.
