Dangote Refinery has once again reduced the price of its refined petroleum products, cutting its ex-depot rate for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to N835 per litre. This follows a recent N15 reduction in its loading cost for petrol.
The new rate represents a N30 decrease from the previous price of N865 per litre, implemented just six days ago, and a N45 drop from N880 per litre, which was the price set last Wednesday. This marks a 3.5% reduction and is the third price cut by the refinery in less than six weeks.
According to a notice sent to its customers on Wednesday morning, the revised price includes charges from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA). A Pro forma invoice sighted by PUNCH Online and a check on petroleumprice.ng confirmed the change.
Earlier reports had suggested a potential price reduction after the landing cost of imported petrol fell to N853 per litre on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, marketers have received regulatory approval to import 117,000 metric tonnes of petrol—equivalent to 156.897 million litres—within an eight-day window from April 8 to 16, 2025, to enhance nationwide fuel supply.
This information was detailed in documents obtained from the Nigerian Ports Authority and the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria.
