Data from the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) indicates that the naira traded at about ₦1,357.26 per dollar on Monday morning in the official market.
The local currency recorded a slight appreciation from earlier levels that were above ₦1,360/$ in early June.
Market updates from the first week of June also showed a modest strengthening of the naira at the official window.
Figures published on the Central Bank of Nigeria’s trading platform revealed that the currency exchanged at an NFEM rate of ₦1,357.2615 per dollar, compared to ₦1,361.0497 recorded previously, indicating a gain of about ₦3.79.
Analysts noted that the naira’s direction in the coming days will likely depend on foreign exchange inflows, foreign portfolio investments, crude oil earnings, and overall market liquidity conditions.
As of June 8, 2026, $100 was valued at roughly ₦135,726 at the official NFEM window.
