The family of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has officially distanced him from a letter currently making the rounds on social media bearing the signature of the African Democratic Congress chieftain.
In a statement released Thursday by his son, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, representing the family, the document—bearing the heading “Urgent Message” and dated July 14, 2026—was declared a fabrication.
The family clarified that the document, addressed to both the National Secretary and National Chairman of the ADC, was never authored by the former governor.
“The former Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises and former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, CON, wishes to alert the public that a fake letter is in circulation, purported to have been signed by him, titled Urgent Message.
“The spurious letter, purportedly dated July 14, 2026, and addressed to the National Chairman and National Secretary of the ADC, should be disregarded,” the statement read.
Furthermore, the family pointed out that both the handwriting and the quality of writing do not belong to El-Rufai, asking the public to pay no attention to it.
“Neither the poor content nor the handwriting has anything to do with Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
“The fake letter shows another resort to desperation by Mallam’s traducers who seek to sow confusion and division. Their attempt at politics by fakery should be dismissed and condemned.
“It is an instance of the most primitive politics and its sponsors should be ashamed of themselves,” the statement added.
