The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has celebrated the elevation of three legal practitioners from the Ilorin Emirate to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
In a statement released on Sunday by his spokesman, Dr Abdulazeez Arowona, the traditional ruler described the achievement as a reflection of the lawyers’ dedication, professionalism and years of distinguished service to the legal profession.
The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee recently approved a fresh list of lawyers for the SAN rank, Nigeria’s highest professional title for advocates, in recognition of their remarkable contributions to legal practice and justice delivery.
Those honoured from the Ilorin Emirate are the Kwara State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Sulyman Ibrahim, Barr. Mas’ud Alabelewe and Barr. Mohammed Adelodun.
Sulu-Gambari said the recognition highlights the commitment and excellence the three lawyers have consistently demonstrated in their careers.
“The rank of SAN is the highest mark of professional excellence conferred on legal practitioners who have distinguished themselves as advocates in the courts.”
He encouraged the newly elevated Senior Advocates to remain committed to the ethical values of the profession and to continue serving as an inspiration to aspiring lawyers.
“On behalf of the Ilorin Emirate and the entire people of Kwara State, I rejoice with these legal luminaries on this well-deserved elevation. May Almighty Allah grant them more wisdom to continue contributing to justice delivery and national development,” the Emir said.
The monarch also commended the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee for rewarding merit and recognising the accomplishments of the three Ilorin indigenes. He prayed for divine guidance, protection and greater success for them as they take on their new status.
