A former chairman of the Jama’are Local Government Area in Bauchi State, Isa Wabi, has been fatally attacked, allegedly by individuals associated with his son.
The Bauchi State Police Command reported that the incident took place early Friday morning at Wabi’s residence in the Fadaman Mada neighborhood, located behind the Government Girls’ Secondary School in Bauchi.
Police officials responded promptly to a distress call from a worried citizen and discovered Wabi in critical condition, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the neck.
He was subsequently transported to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
“The command is conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances of this unfortunate incident and ensure that all responsible parties are brought to justice,” the statement added.
Following the incident, the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, visited the victim’s family to offer condolences.
Aliyu also assured them of a thorough and discreet investigation to ensure justice is served.
