The Federal Government has announced that the final evacuation flight carrying 315 Nigerians from South Africa is scheduled to arrive in Nigeria on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa.
According to the statement, the Air Peace-operated flight will depart South Africa at 1:30 a.m. and is expected to land at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 6:30 a.m.
The evacuation involves Nigerians who expressed their willingness to return home following recent xenophobic attacks and growing security concerns in parts of South Africa.
The Federal Government had previously organised four evacuation flights, which brought back hundreds of Nigerians as part of measures to safeguard the lives and welfare of citizens abroad.
The last batch before the final flight conveyed 40 returnees to Nigeria.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting Nigerians wherever they reside and thanked all individuals and organisations that contributed to the success of the evacuation exercise.
