First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has departed Abuja for Daura in Katsina State to attend the state funeral of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to report, she will be joined by senior government officials and dignitaries who have gathered in Daura for the burial proceedings.
The remains of the late president are expected to arrive in Katsina from London by midday today (Tuesday), with his interment scheduled for later in the afternoon in Daura, in accordance with Islamic rites.
Buhari passed away on Sunday in London after a yet-to-be-disclosed illness, prompting tributes from across Nigeria and the international community.
In his honour, the federal government and governors of the North-Western states have declared Tuesday a public holiday.
In the same vein, while the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, shut its headquarters, the opposition coalition, African Democratic Congress, ADC, suspended any political activities across the country for three days to honour the former president.
