The Federal Road Safety Corps Katsina State Command, on Tuesday, organised a high-level awareness programme on Administrative and Operational Misconduct as part of moves to reinforce discipline, professionalism, and operational effectiveness within the Corps.
The initiative followed a directive from the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, under a continuing institutional reform drive focused on improving service delivery across commands nationwide.
Mohammed was represented at the event by Corps Commander Aya Celestine Anzewu of the Department of Training at the National Headquarters in Abuja, who led the session.
Addressing participants, Mohammed underscored the need for strict compliance with the Service Compact with All Nigerians Charter, emphasising that fairness, transparency, accountability, and timeliness should shape all operational engagements of the Corps.
He stated, “The credibility of the FRSC rests on our discipline and professionalism. We must continue to uphold the principles of fairness, transparency and accountability in all our service delivery processes.”
He noted that the awareness programme was intended to reinforce internal discipline and ethical conduct, improve command and supervisory structures, and promote a culture of integrity and mutual respect among personnel.
According to him, boosting public trust and confidence in FRSC activities remains a central objective of the current leadership.
The programme included interactive lectures, inspections of facilities, consultations with stakeholders, and immediate operational evaluations designed to detect systemic shortcomings and apply corrective steps to enhance overall performance.
In his remarks, the Katsina State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Maxwell Lede, reiterated the command’s dedication to proper conduct and professionalism.
“We pledge our unwavering commitment to delivering professional, humane, transparent and efficient road safety services to all Nigerians. This command will continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity and operational excellence,” he said.
He added that the sensitisation exercise would further reinforce institutional integrity and strengthen operational performance within the Katsina Command.
The FRSC Katsina State Command restated its determination to align its operations with the core values of the Corps while ensuring better service delivery to motorists and other road users throughout the state.
The sensitisation forms part of broader reforms within the FRSC aimed at enhancing discipline, professionalism, and public confidence in the Corps’ activities nationwide.
In recent months, the Corps’ leadership has stepped up internal training and monitoring systems to tackle operational misconduct and improve services offered to road users.
