The suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has returned to the state following a two-week holiday abroad.
The Governor landed at the international terminal of Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, at approximately 7:00 PM on Friday.
A video capturing his arrival shows the Governor being received by a few aides at the airport. He was then ushered into a waiting SUV, which immediately departed.
In March, President Bola Tinubu suspended Governor Fubara, his deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu, and members of the State House of Assembly after declaring a state of emergency in the state.
The President defended his action by citing attacks on oil pipelines by militant groups, amid a worsening dispute between the Governor and 27 lawmakers.
He also noted the involvement of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
