[FULL LIST] Nigerian star shines as ‘Sinners’ dominates 32nd Annual Actors Award

Ryan Coogler’s supernatural horror film ‘Sinners’ emerged as one of the biggest winners at the 32nd Annual Actors Award, held Sunday at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles.

Set in 1932 during the Jim Crow-era Mississippi Delta, the film follows criminal identical twin brothers, both portrayed by Michael B. Jordan, who return to their troubled hometown and face a supernatural evil.

Jordan won the prestigious ‘Best Actor’ in a leading role, while the film’s cast, including British-Nigerian actress Wunmi Mosaku, secured the award for ‘Best Ensemble – Cast’. Wunmi Mosaku also earned an Oscar nomination for ‘Supporting Actress’ for the same film.

The ceremony, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, is considered a key precursor to the Oscars, with winners chosen by their peers in the acting community.

Other notable winners included Jessie Buckley for ‘Best Actress’ in Hamnet, Sean Penn for ‘Best Supporting Actor’ in One Battle After Another, and Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning for ‘Best Stunt Ensemble – Film’.

On television, The Pitt won ‘Best Drama Series Ensemble’, while The Studio claimed ‘Best Comedy Series Ensemble’, with Seth Rogen and Catherine O’Hara taking the top acting awards in comedy series.
