Sadiq Gentle, a Senior Special Reporter to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the Kano State Ministry of History and Culture, has died from injuries he sustained during a recent attack by hoodlums.
He was assaulted by the attackers who stole his phone and inflicted multiple stab wounds, which ultimately led to his death.
“Gentle passed away at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, days after he was brutally attacked at his residence by suspected thugs, who reportedly inflicted deep machete wounds on him,” a Source hinted.
His death has sparked widespread mourning among colleagues and associates.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident, but calls for justice and an investigation into the attack are growing among his peers.
Kano has recently become notorious for phone snatching and gang fights by thugs known as Yandaba.
It was reported that hundreds of women group took to the streets protesting the criminal activities of the deadly gangs and frequent phone snatching.
