The US President Donald Trump, has said that he told Politico he would “work with the Democrats to make sure things go well for our country” according to BBC.
Democrat control of Congress will frustrate Trump’s plans, but he has raised his presidential right to “veto everything”.
Speaking to the news organisation this morning, he suggested that he “doesn’t want to just be sitting there for two years vetoing everything, I want things to happen too”.
He said he has already spoken to “certain leaders of the Democrat party”, adding that he has “a lot of friends in the Democrats also” – but declined to say who.
