Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has confirmed that two of its employees have been abducted in the Ogun region.
In a statement, the company said the workers were kidnapped on April 29, 2026, while carrying out official duties around the Ogunmakin area along the Ibadan–Ijebu Ode Road.
IBEDC expressed concern over the incident, stating that its thoughts are with the affected staff and their families during the difficult period.
The company added that it is collaborating with relevant security agencies to secure the safe release of the abducted employees, while also maintaining close contact with their families and offering necessary support.
It noted that further details could not be disclosed due to the sensitive nature of the situation but assured the public that updates would be provided when appropriate.
