The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the 2025 Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will commence across Nigeria on August 18.
INEC made the announcement on Friday via its official X (formerly Twitter) account.
According to the commission, online pre-registration will begin on August 18 through its dedicated portal: cvr.inecnigeria.org.
The in-person registration will follow a week later, starting on August 25. This phase will take place at all INEC local government offices and other designated registration centres across the country.
The registration exercise will run from Mondays to Fridays, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
“Your vote begins with registration. Don’t miss your opportunity to register,” INEC urged Nigerians.
The commission has also reminded citizens that underage and multiple registrations remain prohibited and warned against any breach of electoral guidelines.
