Iran probes 20 arrests over Israel links

Iran’s judiciary says it is investigating 20 people arrested on suspicion of links to Israel following the recent 12-day conflict between the two rivals.

Judiciary spokesman Asghar Jahangir confirmed the cases were being handled “under the supervision of esteemed investigators” and vowed firm sentences for those found guilty. Iran’s intelligence ministry announced in July it had detained “spies, Mossad agents and support elements” in Tehran and several provinces.

The arrests follow Israel’s mid-June bombing campaign against Iran, which killed senior military commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians. On Wednesday, Iran executed Roozbeh Vadi, convicted of spying for Israel.
