Canada has identified eight companies under its Global Hypergrowth Project (GHP) whose eligible foreign recruits, including Nigerians, can obtain Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)-exempt work permits through the country’s Innovation Stream.
The initiative is designed to support fast-growing Canadian companies by making it easier for them to recruit highly skilled international talent. The Innovation Stream pilot has also been extended and will now run until March 22, 2028.
Here are the eight participating companies:
1. Ada Support Inc.
Toronto-based Ada Support develops artificial intelligence-powered customer service and automation tools for businesses across chat, messaging and voice platforms.
The company operates a remote-first model and offers benefits such as stock options, health and lifestyle spending accounts, parental leave top-ups, unlimited vacation, learning and development funding, and a home-office allowance.
Available roles at the time of publication included customer solutions consultant, senior demand generation manager, engineering team lead, senior cloud security engineer, technical product manager, sales development representative and senior data analyst.
2. AlayaCare
Headquartered in Montreal, AlayaCare provides cloud-based software for organisations delivering home and community healthcare services.
The company had vacancies in Toronto and Montreal, including customer success programme manager, senior integration developer, product manager, FP&A analyst, AI and automation specialist, and customer enablement specialist.
Employees also enjoy flexible vacation, health coverage, career development opportunities and team engagement programmes.
3. Clarius Mobile Health
Vancouver-based Clarius Mobile Health develops wireless handheld ultrasound scanners and AI-powered imaging technology.
The company offers flexible work arrangements, professional development funding and volunteer opportunities.
Open positions at the time included manufacturing and materials technician as well as inside sales representative, with most roles based in Vancouver.
4. Clio
Clio is a Canadian legal technology company that develops cloud-based software for law firms. It is headquartered in Vancouver, with offices in Toronto, Calgary and other cities.
Employee benefits include equity options for eligible staff, RRSP matching, at least four weeks of paid leave, parental leave, health, dental and vision insurance, and wellness support.
Current vacancies included account executive, accounting manager, administrative assistant, customer success manager, director of sales, product management roles and IT procurement specialist.
5. Lightspeed Commerce
Montreal-based Lightspeed Commerce provides point-of-sale and payment solutions for retailers, restaurants and hospitality businesses.
Its benefits package includes flexible paid leave, remote work opportunities, equity options, pension contributions, training programmes, health and wellness credits, and paid volunteer leave.
Available roles included AI enablement specialist, AI marketing technologist, growth marketing director, executive assistant, product designer, software developer, product manager and senior marketing coordinator.
6. CellCarta
CellCarta, based in Montreal, is a health and life sciences company specialising in laboratory and biomarker testing services that support medical research and patient care.
However, the company was not recruiting for regular positions in Canada at the time of publication, with only internship opportunities available.
7. Vive Crop Protection
Headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, Vive Crop Protection develops agricultural technology and crop protection products using its patented Allosperse Delivery Technology.
Although the company participates in the programme, only vacancies in the United States were listed on its website at the time of publication.
8. Duchesnay Pharmaceutical Group
Quebec-based Duchesnay Pharmaceutical Group focuses on women’s health and treatments for rare diseases.
The company manufactures its products in Blainville, Quebec, and exports to more than 50 countries worldwide.
According to the source, Duchesnay was not hiring when the report was published.
Canada’s Innovation Stream is intended to help participating companies recruit global talent more efficiently while providing skilled foreign professionals with an easier pathway to work in the country.
