The secretary to the Rivers State Government, Benibo Anabraba, has formally stepped down from the Peoples Democratic Party.
The resignation was conveyed in a letter dated January 5, 2026, addressed to the PDP chairman of Ward 1 in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of the state.
In the letter, Anabraba described his decision to exit the main opposition party as “personal.”
He also thanked the party for the “political leverage gained from the party during the period of my membership.”
While Anabraba did not reveal his next political destination, sources indicate that he is preparing to align with the ruling All Progressives Congress.
