The Kaduna State Government has rejected a recent security report that placed the state among those with the highest number of kidnapping cases in the country, labeling the report as “false, mischievous, and irresponsible.”
In a statement released by the Ministry of Information and signed by Commissioner-Designate Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the government criticized the report, which was credited to SB Morgen, for claiming that 629 people were kidnapped in Kaduna between July 2024 and June 2025.
“The publication by SB Morgen alleging that 629 persons were abducted within the period is false and mischievous,” the statement read. “It is nothing but a figment of the authors’ imagination orchestrated to discredit the Kaduna Peace Model, which has been recognised by security agencies and international organisations as a successful initiative.”
The statement urged citizens to disregard the SB Morgen ranking, insisting that it does not reflect the present security realities in the state.
The government highlighted recent achievements under Governor Sani’s security model, including the recovery of over 500,000 hectares of arable land and the reopening of livestock markets in Birnin Gwari and Giwa local government areas after more than a decade of closure.
Also commenting, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Suleiman Shuiabu (SAN), disclosed that in April alone, 34 security operations led to the arrest of 54 high-profile suspects and the rescue of more than 75 kidnap victims.
