Kebbi Govt urges residents to ignore ADC Coalition

Residents of Kebbi State have been advised to disregard the newly formed African Democratic Congress (ADC)-led coalition, and instead continue their support for Governor Nasir Idris, whose administration has delivered visible development across the state.

The appeal came from the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, during a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.

“Governor Idris has executed numerous impactful projects across Kebbi State… from urban renewal in Birnin Kebbi to solar streetlights and boreholes,” Sarki said.

Projects Across LGAs

Sarki highlighted key infrastructure projects under the Idris administration, including:

  • Township road construction in Argungu, Jega, Yauri, and Shanga

  • Renovation of hospitals

  • Upgrades of Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) to General Hospitals

These, he said, are evidence of people-focused governance that the ADC coalition cannot rival.

Coalition ‘Dead on Arrival’

Sarki dismissed the ADC-led alliance, which includes national political figures like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, calling it “dead on arrival” in Kebbi.

“The people of Kebbi State will not be misled by any movement claiming to bring good governance when they already have a leader with proven achievements,” he said.

This statement aligns with growing tensions across party lines ahead of the 2027 elections, as coalitions form and political loyalties shift nationwide.
