The Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kebbi State, Abubakar Bawa, has resigned from the party with immediate effect.
Bawa announced his decision in a resignation letter dated March 30, which was addressed to the Ward Chairman of Kalgo Ward in Kalgo Local Government Area.
In the letter obtained Online on Monday, he expressed appreciation to the party for the opportunity to serve, noting the support and cooperation he enjoyed during his time in office.
“I thank the party for the platform given to me to contribute my quota and wish the PDP continued success and progress,” Bawa stated.
His resignation has sparked political interest within the Kebbi PDP, especially as it comes amid subtle realignments ahead of upcoming elections.
The development appears unexpected, given that Bawa had recently reiterated in an interview with Channels Television that the state chapter would take part in the controversial Wike-backed factional convention in Abuja.
Observers are now pointing to possible internal divisions and shifting dynamics within the Kebbi State chapter of the PDP.
