General Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, William Kumuyi, has urged Nigerian leaders to become agents of change and mobilize citizens toward holistic national development.
The respected cleric and convener of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi noted that leaders occupy a strategic position to bring about a turning point in the nation by positively influencing their communities and citizens, which would ultimately improve the country’s socio-economic fortunes.
Kumuyi gave this charge while responding to questions from journalists shortly after arriving at the Port Harcourt International Airport ahead of the Global Crusade themed “Turning Point,” scheduled to run from Wednesday, February 25 to Sunday at the Deeper Life Campground in Rumudara, on the outskirts of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
He stressed that genuine national transformation begins with personal renewal among leaders and citizens alike, highlighting the significance of a turning point.
“Turning Point is God’s direction for individuals. Those individuals become agents of turning points in their communities and when people that have a say in the way the country is governed have a turning point too, it’s definitely going to affect every other thing.
“Turning point is not in a vacuum. Turning point is God touching lives, and those lives in turn touch other people. We believe in God and trust Him that turning points will affect policies and the economy of communities and the country.”
Pastor Kumuyi further underscored the importance of legacy, stating that those in positions of authority must seek God’s guidance to produce lasting positive impact on the nation and its citizens, especially ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Leaders and Followers, every community and institution, everybody should desire a turning point. What we project is also reflected from the inside. Whether citizens number this or that, if we have an inward internal turning point, it’s going to affect our community.
“Actions of individuals will be judged by the legacies they leave behind,” the respected cleric noted.
Also speaking, Mrs. Esther Kumuyi, wife of the General Overseer, assured participants at the forthcoming crusade to remain hopeful, emphasizing that God is still able to provide solutions to both personal and national challenges.
“Irrespective of the challenges facing individuals, God is able to provide solutions and solve problems of those who believe in Him,” she stated.
