LASG to begin E-Call up system enforcement for trucks on Lekki-Epe

The Lagos State Government has announced that over 10,000 trucks have been registered, with more currently being onboarded, ahead of the commencement of enforcement of the E-Call Up System along the Lekki-Epe Corridor starting August 1, 2025.

A statement released on Tuesday noted that the enforcement follows several months of strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and public sensitisation.

To prepare for the rollout, the Ministry of Transportation has worked closely with key stakeholders and implemented essential recommendations. These include the reduction of the park usage fee from ₦12,500 to ₦10,000 and the full equipping of seven designated truck parks, which are now ready for operation.

As part of the transition process, the Ministry, in partnership with E-Call Up Technologies, has launched a familiarisation exercise across the approved parks. This initiative provides free system testing and hands-on support to guide truck drivers through the registration and operational procedures.

The E-Call Up System is designed to streamline truck movements, reduce traffic congestion, eliminate illegal parking, and boost operator compliance.

The initiative is expected to significantly enhance traffic flow, protect road infrastructure, improve public safety, and stimulate economic activity along the corridor.

The state government has urged all stakeholders to complete their registration and collaborate with relevant agencies to ensure the successful implementation of the initiative, describing it as a step toward a smarter and more efficient transport system in Lagos.
