Lawmaker donates 10 buses, 150 motorcycles for Adeleke’s re-election

A lawmaker representing the Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State, Mr. Bamidele Salam, has provided 10 buses and 150 motorcycles to support Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election campaign.

The donation was disclosed in a statement he personally signed, obtained in Osogbo on Wednesday.

Salam said the vehicles were meant for “Campaign coordinators that will work in Ede Federal Constituency to enable them deliver on the mandate of gathering maximum support for Adeleke in the August 15 governorship poll.”

He made the presentation during the official launch of the Accord Party’s campaign in Ede, explaining that the logistics support would be shared among campaign coordinators across the constituency. He also noted that “the donated 10 buses and 150 motorcycles will be allocated to coordinators drawn from 42 wards in the constituency.”

According to him, the gesture is aimed at improving movement during the campaign, strengthening grassroots mobilisation, and supporting door-to-door voter engagement efforts.

He urged those who would receive the vehicles to handle them responsibly.

Salam also expressed confidence that Governor Adeleke would win the upcoming election.

Speaking at the event, Governor Adeleke’s elder sister, Mrs. Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, praised the initiative and advised beneficiaries to use the vehicles effectively while maintaining safety throughout the campaign period.

The Director-General of the Imole Campaign Council and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Lere Oyewumi, said the donation shows Salam’s continued dedication to grassroots politics and party development. He also stressed that public office should be used to create real impact through representation and empowerment.

Similarly, the Chairman of the Imole Campaign Council, Prof. Wale Oladipupo, urged campaign members to intensify their efforts toward securing victory for the governor.

The Ede Federal Constituency campaign council is led by Elder Sunday Atidade Akande, with local government chairmen and other stakeholders included as members.

Campaign activities ahead of the Osun governorship election officially began on March 11, with political parties already actively engaging voters.

Governor Adeleke, who is seeking re-election on the Accord platform, is being challenged by Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress, and candidates from eleven other parties.
