A new cardiac care facility is set to be commissioned in Kaduna State on Tuesday by the Muslim World League.
The centre, located in Tudun Wada, Kaduna South Local Government Area, was developed through a partnership between the Muslim World League and the Kaduna State Government.
The facility is expected to provide specialised services for people with cardiovascular conditions, including diagnosis, treatment and other forms of cardiac care.
Tahir Umar Tahir, Director-General of the Kaduna State Interfaith Bureau, disclosed the development in a statement released on Saturday.
He said Mohammed Bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, would perform the commissioning.
According to Tahir, the centre is expected to improve access to specialised heart treatment and reduce the number of Nigerians travelling overseas to seek cardiovascular care.
He said the facility would provide “advanced cardiovascular diagnosis, treatment and care which will substantially stem the tide of patients seeking medical treatment abroad.”
The cardiac centre will also serve patients from different religious backgrounds, according to the statement.
Tahir said the project would further strengthen Kaduna’s tertiary healthcare infrastructure and complement existing facilities, including the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital, commissioned by President Bola Tinubu in June 2025.
He described the project as part of the state government’s efforts to expand access to specialised medical services.
The official also outlined other developments in Kaduna’s health sector, saying the government had upgraded all 255 primary healthcare centres to level-two status.
He added that the administration had expanded healthcare services for mothers, newborns, children and adolescents, while also improving immunisation, disease monitoring and emergency response.
According to the statement, the state is equally renovating general hospitals, providing modern medical equipment and employing healthcare workers across different professional fields.
The government has also continued to support specialist medical training and professional development, including funding for medical residency programmes.
The commissioning of the new cardiac centre is expected to provide residents with greater access to specialised heart care and strengthen Kaduna’s healthcare system.
