Nasarawa governor secures APC senatorial ticket

Abdullahi Sule has emerged victorious in the APC senatorial primary for Nasarawa North, positioning himself as the party’s candidate for the 2027 elections.

The governor defeated former deputy governor and ex-Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment, Silas Ali Agara, by securing 47,393 votes against Agara’s 2,915 votes during the primary election held on Tuesday.

Declaring the outcome in Akwanga, Returning Officer Musa Guri said the exercise was conducted peacefully and in line with party guidelines.

“I, Musa Shuaibu Guri, Chairman of the Senatorial Primary Elections Committee, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the Nasarawa North senatorial primary election held on the 18th day of May 2026,” he said.

“Audu Alhaji Sule got a total vote of 47,393, while the second aspirant, Silas Ali Agara, got a total vote of 2,915,” Guri added.

“He scored the highest number of votes and is accordingly declared the winner and returned as the party’s senatorial candidate for Nasarawa North Senatorial District,” he declared.
