The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has received the newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff and the Service Chiefs on their maiden courtesy visit to his office at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
The delegation, led by the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, included the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas; and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal S. K. Aneke.
A statement from the Minister’s office said the visit demonstrated his commitment to fostering a cohesive defence leadership built on trust, collaboration, and shared purpose.
According to the statement, the meeting also marked the beginning of a renewed drive towards a unified strategy and decisive action to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity and national interests, under the direction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
The statement, signed by Mati Ali, Personal Assistant (Media and Publicity) to the Minister, emphasised that the visit reflects the Ministry’s determination to advance unity, leadership, and strategic direction within the nation’s defence architecture.
