The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has released the dates and locations for passport issuance services for Nigerians living in the United Kingdom, following the deployment of a Passport Intervention Team directed by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The team, comprising officials from the NIS headquarters in Abuja, was sent to the UK to provide passport-related services to Nigerians in selected cities.
The intervention exercise is scheduled to take place in London, Manchester, Aberdeen and Cardiff.
According to a statement signed by the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, the exercise is being organised following consultations with the High Commission of Nigeria and representatives of Nigerian communities in the UK.
Akinlabi announced that in London and Manchester, the intervention will run from September 7 to 19, 2026.
He said the team would subsequently move to Aberdeen and Cardiff from September 21 to 26, 2026. The Aberdeen exercise will be held at Hilton Convention Centre, 13 Smithfield Road, Aberdeen, AB24 4NR, while applicants in Cardiff will be attended to at Sophia Gardens, Sophia Walk, Cardiff CF11 9XR.
Akinlabi, a Deputy Comptroller of Immigration (DCI), said the exercise is open to eligible Nigerians in the specified locations and surrounding areas, especially those seeking new passports, renewing existing passports, or resolving pending passport applications.
“Applicants are required to apply and pay through the NIS Passport Application Portal before visiting their preferred venue.
They are also expected to present a completed application form, payment slips as proof of payment, an appointment slip, a self-addressed return envelope, and, in the case of passport renewal, their current passport,” Akinlabi said.
The Service warned that applicants who come with cash will not be attended to, urging all applicants to cooperate with immigration officials to ensure a smooth and orderly exercise.
The NIS clarified that all its digital passport application channels, including the Contactless Passport Application System, remain fully operational. Home delivery service is also available to applicants.
