NSCDC donates N900,000 to family of slain officer in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has presented ₦900,000 to the family of late officer SC Bashir Adamu Jibrin, who died while on duty.

The State Commandant, CC Bala Bawa Bodinga, handed the donation to the officer’s widow during his 100 days in office celebration at the command headquarters in Dutse.

According to report, Jibrin was killed by hoodlums at Shiwarin Market in Kiyawa Local Government Area after apprehending a suspect who had been on the command’s wanted list.

CC. Bawa said the gesture was to support the bereaved family and assist in the upkeep of the children.

‎According to him, “N600,000 was contributed by his colleagues, N100,000 by Dutse local Government council chairman and N200,000 by a businessman, Alhaji Nura Maigatari Danbahago”

‎”From my side also I will be giving the family N20,000 every month until I leave the state,” CC. Bawa said.

He further commended the fallen officer for his selfless service and sacrifice, describing him as a committed personnel who paid the supreme price in the course of duty.

‎He advised the widow to make good use of the money to take care of the children’s education and welfare.

‎He noted that the command will always remember the officer for his efforts in serving the nation with dedication and courage.

The widow, who was in tears, appreciated the command’s efforts, assuring to utilise the support accordingly.
