Ogun govt extends property document submission deadline by two weeks

The Ogun State Government has granted a two-week extension for property owners and occupiers affected by its ongoing physical development audit to submit their title documents.

According to a statement by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tpl. Olatunji Odunlami, the extension will give owners and developers additional time to present their planning permits or regularise unapproved developments with the ministry and its agencies.

The decision, prompted by appeals from affected property owners in Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode, underscores the government’s commitment to transparency and the rule of law.

Odunlami stressed that the exercise in Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode, and other parts of the state is not targeted at any individual or organisation, but part of a continuous effort to promote sustainable urban development. He also noted that the extension does not affect any constitutional or statutory actions already taken by the state on the matter.

The physical development audit aims to ensure compliance with planning regulations and to curb unapproved construction across the state.
